Street in Hong Kong (1987)

Audrey loved to travel and visited many countries on package tours. She often travelled with her mother and later on her own. She photographed all of the trips until her camera was confiscated in Syria. Audrey also drew what she observed during her visits. She saw many countries in Europe including several behind the Iron Curtain. Places to which Audrey travelled included Bolivia, Brazil, Egypt, India, Nepal, Ceausescu's Romania, Soviet Russia, the United States, Vietnam and the former Yugoslavia. In 1987 she went to Hong Kong and China where she was detained in Shanghai and hospitalised after behaving erratically. She described this experience in a vivid memoir.
